Mr. Kjaedegaard has planned, implemented, and managed ocean transport services, asset sharing agreements, logistics operations, and marine terminal projects around the world. He directed the largest containership service network in the world, and planned the startup of a new terminal operating company. Mr. Kjaedegaard received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Denmark’s Commercial College and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Mr. Leonard has led or participated in port acquisitions and then managed and developed the acquired assets. He has designed and managed transportation networks, led asset acquisition and disposition studies and is an expert in financial analysis, operations modeling and the creation of other analytical tools used in major projects across the globe. He gained general management experience during his overseas tour in Brazil. Mr. Leonard has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley as well as graduate degrees in management and engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Lindeback has evaluated, planned, executed, and managed marine terminal operations and investments across North America and has particular expertise in break-bulk, RO-RO, container, and general cargo operations. This includes managing terminal and stevedoring operations in multiple Gulf Coast and South Atlantic ports. As an asset manager, he served as a member of the the global ports industry team and managed three separate marine terminal investments. Mr. Lindeback received a bachelor’s degree in government from Georgetown University and an MBA in finance from New York University. Senior Analyst – Based in Seattle, with about 15 years of experience in transportation economics, international trade dynamics, energy logistics, and public sector cost/benefit analysis.
Mr. Andreoli has conducted numerous economic and international trade forecasts focused primarily on South American and Asia for private and public sector clients. In addition, he has conducted economic impact studies on freight transportation networks, cargo flows, and transport infrastructure for regional and state governments and he has developed and applied geographic information systems to support these projects. Prior to joining Mercator, he served as a researcher and lead instructor in economic geography, regional economic development, and geographic information systems at the University of Washington. Mr. Andreoli writes a monthly column for Logistics Management magazine that focuses on oil and fuel markets and regularly gives keynote presentations on these subjects at logistics conferences. He received a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economic Geography from the University of Washington, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Global Trade and Transportation from that same institution. His doctoral research explores the interaction between oil prices, the economy, and structural and geographic changes in supply chain structure. He has developed and applied freight routing optimization models for multiple Asian exporters and evaluated numerous vessel network plans. Mr. Wang received a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from Namkang University in Taiwan, as well as a master’s degree in transportation engineering from National Chiao Tung University, also in Taiwan. He sailed in the Taiwanese Merchant Marine and also earned a master’s degree in transportation systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Devine has a history of running, improving worker safety, productivity and service levels for both the shipping and trucking communities in key U.S. markets. He ran two of the five major port terminals in the Port of New York where he ran a combined capacity of more than a million lifts and approximately 30% of the overall capacity of the harbor. Some of his achievements include the expansion and modernization of facilities including the introduction of automated rail mounted gantry cranes and other new technologies. Jim also spent 26 years with Sea-Land Service progressing through senior management positions.
